Water Safety at Home

If your child is around water, that’s where your attention needs to be. A baby can drown in just one inch of water. That means if the phone is ringing, it can wait.

Here are some tips courtesy of Safe Kids Worldwide:

  • Once bath time is over, drain the tub immediately. That goes the same for wading pools. Because of their flexibility and low sides, it is easier for children to climb inside an inflatable pool.
  • Keep toilet lids closed and use toilet seats locks.
  • Keep the doors to bathrooms and laundry rooms closed.

Learn CPR. You are your child’s first responder in any accident. CPR classes are offered through the American Red Cross (click here) and CPR Florida (click here).
